toward a more humane civilization with greater respect for liberty and justice and toward a dialogue to improve our great American Experiment in representative democracy. The struggle for liberty defines daily our human drive for freedom, and can never be taken for granted. Nor can the struggle be left to professional politicians, but is the civic responsibility of every citizen. As the founders of this great progressive country believed, this progress toward liberty, is the pursuit of happiness. Only through liberty and justice are the hopes of humankind possible. With the wisdom of history and the long view of our mutual future in mind, let us go together forward. R.W. Spisak Jr. 3/19/06 |
